What do I need to do to enroll in direct deposit?−+
All employees are required to be paid by direct deposit for payroll and expense reimbursements. Federal Work Study students are the only exception (direct deposit is strongly encouraged but not required). Most direct deposits can be set up electronically directly in OneUSG Connect. Please see link for instructions below.
Note: As part of the University System of Georgia’s enhanced security measures, you must be connected to a UGA Campus network in order to update your direct deposit in OneUSG Connect. If you are unable to connect to a campus network, or if you bank with certain identified banks with increased risk of payroll fraud, the Central Payroll Office will need to enter your account information for these banks on your behalf for security reasons. If you are unable to enter direct deposit yourself, please see further instructions below.
What can I do if I am not able to set up direct deposit?−+
I attempted to set up my direct deposit in OneUSG Connect, but received an error:
If an employee attempts to change their direct deposit to certain identified banks with increased risk of payroll fraud, the system will not allow the banking information to be saved. Instead, a system-generated pop-up note will instruct the employee to contact the institution HR/payroll office to make the change. If you receive this message, please complete this form and payroll will follow up to verify your identity and request additional documentation.
I am unable to connect to a campus network:
If you are unable to connect to a campus network, the Central Payroll Office will need to enter your account information on your behalf for security reasons. Please complete this form and payroll will follow up to verify your identity and request additional documentation.
I need to request an exemption to the direct deposit requirement:
Submit an exemption request form with an attached letter of explanation.
What changes do I need to be aware of if I am paid via Federal Work Study?−+
Federal Work Study students can voluntarily sign up for direct deposit but are not required to do so. Paper checks will be issued and printed by Wells Fargo.
Who do I contact if I have questions?−+
You can contact your department’s HR/payroll representative or UGA Payroll at [email protected].
