Involvement With University of Georgia's OneSource Project Training

Monday, October 9, 2017

Overview:

The UGA community is embarking on a comprehensive business transformation project to adopt leading business practices, align our systems with those used by the University System of Georgia, and to utilize a new finance and human resources administration system that is integrated, efficient, modern and supports data-driven decision making. This multi-year project will replace legacy finance and human resource administrative systems with version 9.2 of PeopleSoft, the financial and human resource solutions used across all institutions in the University System of Georgia. While system implementation projects are based on technology platforms, they are at their foundations business process transformation ventures which heavily impact an organization’s operations and culture.

There will be a strong emphasis on involving members of the university community in all phases of UGA’s OneSource project in order to comprehensively address the complexity of campus unit needs, facilitate end user adoption of the new system and ensure campus supports our new business processes.  It is important to the success of the project to have university members involved in all aspects of the training process.

There are several ways for you to get involved in training. For example:

  1. Members of the Training Advisory Team will provide valuable input on training content and materials so that the trainings meet the needs of the university community.
  2. Participants in the Train-the-Trainer program will deliver institution-wide training for end users.  These members will participate in extensive training not only on PeopleSoft content, but also on how to teach others.

Informational meetings will be held October 9 and October 13 for those who expressed interest in volunteering for training related project activities.

At these meetings, we will have a chance to discuss the progress and history of the project and further define the roles that you can take on in the training process.  We encourage you to attend this initial session in person if possible.

If you have any questions or concerns or need for clarification at this time, don’t hesitate to contact me.  We appreciate your support for UGA’s OneSource project. Your commitment to this project is crucial for its success.
